Spiritual Issues

People’s lives can closely resemble what Paul describes in Romans 7:19 ‘For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing.’ Many people, even people that have been Christians and attend church for a long time can feel that their lives do not reflect their beliefs and convictions. Despite understanding that they are image bearers of God, people can continue to struggle with negative thinking and behaviours that cause feelings of guilt and shame. From a spiritual perspective issues such as generational patterns, unforgiveness, judgement of self and others and false concepts of God (such as ‘He is just waiting to see me mess up’) can contribute to a persons’ difficulties in normal life and keeping to their beliefs and values.
